Everything in one location

All disciplines needed when building machines are within reach. That way we get the job done together.

rademaker headquarters IN CULEMBORG

At our office in Culemborg, we work with over 500 colleagues, who value being supportive to each other and being attentive. It is precisely by using each other’s knowledge, skills and differences as much as possible that we continue to learn, innovate and perform.

What makes working at our Culemborg office extra special is that different disciplines work together in one location. From our Rademaker Technology Centre, for instance, where the smell of dough meets you upon walking in the room, you walk onto the production floor after less than 20 meters. Here, the smell of dough gives way to the smell of stainless steel. Another 50 meters further ahead, the first units take shape on the assembly floor, where another 20 metres further on an entire production line undergoes a functional test. Around the same production line, mechanics work together with software programmers, bakers, project managers and mechanical engineers. Together they ultimately provide our customer with the best solution and service.

Sales & technology centre

The foundation of every production line we develop begins with the products our customer wants to make with it. For this reason, the worlds of machine construction and industrial bakeries come together right from the start. That’s why Rademaker employs colleagues with both backgrounds.

In Culemborg, we also have our Rademaker Technology Centre, a test bakery and showroom combined. Here, our dough technologists conduct tests for and with the customer. Insights from these tests, among other things, enable our sales teams to offer the best solutions for our customers.

Because a vast variety and number of requirements come into play when purchasing our production lines, the sales process often takes months. Consideration is given to the layout of the factory, the product recipes, the customer’s personnel, and much more.

Engineering

Every production line we design includes customer-specific variations, both in the form of components as well as entire units. From the mechanical design to the electrical cabinets and associated schematics, from the control software to the safety protocols, our engineers develop all of these themselves.

For this reason, we have teams of mechanical engineers, hardware engineers, and software engineers. The largest group works on our customer projects, whilst our New Product Design team focuses on the development of new machines and techniques. Our Standardization & Change Control team is responsible for standardizing and maintaining our product portfolio. Thanks to them, we can automatically generate CAD models of standard machines, leaving more time for customer-specific designs.

OPERATIONS

Once a production line is designed, our supply chain can commence. We produce customer-specific parts ourselves in Culemborg, where we have a complete production routing. This includes, for example, laser cutting machines, press brakes, CNC turning and milling machines, welding stations, and a blasting cabin.

Our standard parts and machines are mostly manufactured at our production and assembly location in Slovakia. Some of the work is also outsourced to our suppliers.

To ensure that all parts arrive on time for assembly, our colleagues from Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain Planning, and Procurement work closely together.

In our warehouse, we organize our inventories. Our four Kardex lift systems will quickly catch your eye as you walk from production towards our assembly environment.

INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING

Our production lines are coming alive for the first time in Culemborg.

The individual components are assembled into units and the electrical cabinets are assembled. Now it’s time to mechanically assemble the complete line. Electrical cables are put into place, so that we can then start testing. In fact, the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) also takes place in Culemborg, at which time our customer is also present.

The production line is then dismantled and shipped to the customer, after which a team of our own engineers travels there as well, to commission the line on site. Both in Culemborg and at the customer’s factories, this is a multidisciplinary start-up project in which various assembly and commissioning colleagues, together with our bakery technologists, ensure that the production line is delivered and in working order as promised.
